BELMONT — Charles Kilborn American Legion Post 58 and Robert Leroux unit, Knights of Columbus, both in Belmont, are holding a joint flag disposal ceremony on Saturday, June 18, at 2 P.M., in the gravel parking lot at the West end of the newly installed covered bridge. This is just West of downtown Belmont off Route 140 at the end of the Tioga River bridge. These two civic organizations are working together to provide a proper and dignified way of disposing of old and worn out American flags. All are welcome to attend. Anyone wishing to drop off flags for disposal may do so at the Belmont Fire Station office any time during the year. The Legion and Knights will pick them up before the ceremony each year on Flag Day.
