Carlos Martinez and Jane Cormier will be providing musical selections for Sunday's Thanksgiving Service at Smith Meeting House

On Sunday, November 22 at 4 p.m. a Thanksgiving Service will be held in The Smith Meeting House in Gilmanton. The First Congregational Society in Gilmanton, the oldest church in the community, invites all denominations to attend the traditional Thanksgiving service. There will be musical selections provided by Carlos Martinez and Jane Cormier,

The sermon will be given by The Reverend Sidney Lovett, of Holderness, a well known theologian, scholar, and a man with a good wit. Following the service light refreshments will be served.

The Smith Meeting House is located on Meeting House Road between the Iron Works and Gilmanton Corner Village, on route 140 and off route 107, on Meeting House Road.

Cormier has performed leading roles with many regional and international opera houses She lived and performed in Vienna, Austria . She performed at the Theatre an der Wien in the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s German production, “Das Phantom der Oper” in the role of “Carlotta. Currently, she is founder/director of Lakes Region Opera Company and teaches vocal instruction at Brewster Academy.

Martinez is originally from San Antonio. He has a thriving studio of singers in Manchester and is a certified music teacher in New Hampshire. He has performed in and conducted many operas including, "Lucia di Lammermoor", "Pagliacci", "Dido & Aeneas", "La Traviata" and "The Magic Flute".

A couple, Cormier and Martinez Carlos have worked with Opera NH for 10 years, Currently, Carlos is Center Harbor Town Band Director, and is known to audiences all over the Lakes Region, as "Mr. M" from his successful cable access program, "Mr. M's Wonderful World of Music." They have two wonderful children, Catherine and Christopher.
