Bright and dry spring weather has brought an early opening to Bolduc Park, which has officially opened for the 2008 golf season.

Playing on the already-lush greens, golfers Ellie Jacques and Ginny Clavett commented that the conditions at Bolduc Park are just “beautiful”. The avid golfers spend two mornings a week golfing at the park.

“We were here on opening day and we’ll play right up until closing,” commented Clavett.

“The conditions here are always great, and it’s conveniently located,” added Jacques.

While both women played golf, Alan Hopkins, who along with Bob Bolduc, worked as a superintendent of the grounds at the park. “Alan certainly deserves the credit for the work that he does here — he does an incredible job,” added Clavett.

Bolduc Park is open for golf seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Park will be offering golf lessons (youth and adult) during May and June. Applications for lessons are available at Gilford, Laconia, and Belmont Parks & Recreation departments as well as at Bolduc Park.

The Park is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. For more information about golfing at Bolduc Park — located just of Gilford Avenue on the Gilford-Laconia line — or volunteer opportunities, call 524-1370.
