TILTON — The Blessing of the Animals will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday October 10.
All are welcome to the ceremony, which will commemorate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi by acknowledging the great gifts that animals offer our lives. A portion of offerings will be donated to a local animal service organization.
In order for all to enjoy a safe and meaningful worship experience, all animals — whether fully-trained and housebroken or livestock — should be secured on leashes, in carriers, or cages and should not be left unattended by their human counterparts. For animals unable or unwilling to travel to church, or those companions who are deceased, photographs or other mementos are invited. Soft cuddly plush animals that bring comfort and pleasure to so many are also welcome.
A “comfort station” for animal guests will be available at the rear of the lawn, beyond the wire fence. Light refreshments will be served following the service. For further details, call 286-3120.
