The Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring its annual Canoe and Kayak Race on Sunday, June 28, starting at 10 a.m. The race is co-sponsored by Parker Marine.
The race begins in the river north of the bridge on Route 28, launch at the River Run Deli. Paddle the Merrymeeting River into Lake Winnipesaukee- Alton Bay, with two portages. Lifejackets are required. Categories include: racing, recreation, kayak, co-ed, single, men, women, adult and child and senior citizen. Registration fee is $20 per boat/double or $10/single. Great prizes will be awarded.
