LACONIA — Laconia Adult Education is offering free Basic Math, Reading and HISET Preparation Classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:-8:30 p.m.

Peggy Selig, program director, says participants can improve their math and reading skills and eventually work toward a HISET Certificate or High School Diploma. On Tuesday and Thursday nights, Reading Comprehension Classes cover the subject areas of Science, Social Studies and Literature which are pre-requisites for the HISET Test. Math Skills are also reviewed covering the subject areas of basic math, fractions, decimals, measurement, Geometry and Algebra functions.

The classes are individualized; each student progresses at his or her own pace. There are no tests and there is no fear of failing.

To enroll in the reading, math and HISET classes call the Laconia Adult Education Office at 524-5712 or stop by the Adult Education Office located in Room #108 at Laconia High School.
