ALTON — The Gilman Library will host Oscar Night at the Movies on Friday, October 4 at 7 p.m..

Featured will be Moby Dick, a 1956 film starring Gregory Peck, Richard Basehart, and Orson Welles.

John Huston brought Herman Melville's classic American novel to the screen as an adventure tale laden with action and horror. Gregory Peck, in one of his finest roles, portrays Captain Ahab, the tyrannical, obsessed leader who lusts for revenge against the mysterious white whale.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
