The New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters held its annual meeting and Granite Mikes Award ceremony in Concord recently, and one of the evening’s highlights was a touching video tribute to Lakes Region broadcaster Warren Bailey.

Bailey is the founder of what is now the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction in 1982. Since its inception, the event has raised and distributed more than $8 million to local families and charities. The NHAB presented Bailey with an award in his name, which will now be given to a deserving NH broadcaster every year going forward.

The new category is the “Warren Bailey Community Service Award.” Bailey was in attendance with many former colleagues and friends.

Also at the event held at the Bank of NH Stage the state’s radio and TV broadcasters were honored for excellence in programming, promotions, production and overall performance during the last year.
