MOULTONBOROUGH ― In the past few years, as the world got back on its feet after COVID, the Moultonborough Women’s Club has ballooned. Membership dipped to around 90 in 2022, and now it has nearly doubled, largely due to the exciting programs offered.

This month, representatives from The Common Man for Ukraine shared inspiring stories about their volunteer trips delivering over 22 tons of food, generators, and supplies to frontline Ukrainian villages. Members collected monetary donations and Beanie Babies in support of their efforts.

The Activities Commitee was created in 2023 and is brilliantly led by co-chairs Mary Bishop and Jan Flanangan. Every month since its inception, Bishop, Flanagan, and their crew have scouted out and offered a broad range of unique, local programs so that there really is something for everyone.

There are opportunities to create every month. In March, that includes doing ceramics at Fran’s Ceramics and Gifts in Bristol and making succulent arrangements at the Boro Floral Boutique in Moultonborough. If you want to get active, there is a hiking group that meets frequently or you can participate in a movement and meditation session at Scissorgy in Moultonborough in April.

If you like to read and discuss books, the MWC has a Book Club. Movies? The MWC will be enjoying a private showing of "Reminders of Him" at BarnZ in Meredith. Travel? The MWC is offering an Ireland Group Tour spearheaded by member and local travel agent Sheila McCleary in May. There are breakfasts and coffee klatches at local eateries and, of course, there are bake sales that, over the MWC’s 75 years, have raised over $237,000 for scholarships to deserving Moultonborough students.
