Moran and Dahlquist

LACONIA — Col. William J. Moran and Lt. Col. Henry J. Dahlquist were honored by the FAA with the Wright Brothers Award for 50 years of dedicated service to aviation. The awards were presented at Laconia Airport.

Moran served 26 years in the USAF flying B-52s and other aircraft. Dahlquist was a member of the Air National Guard and flew C-130s mainly. They both have held many positions within the New Hampshire Wing of the Civil Air Patrol.

Moran was a commander of the Laconia squadron and also the NH Wing. Dahlquist served Civil Air Patrol as operations officer and other flying staff duties. He also was instrumental in search and rescue training, getting great marks from the Air Force when they put on complicated inspections to test the wing's expertise in both ground and air searches.
