CENTER SANDWICH — The Center Sandwich Fine Craft Gallery, which is a founding member of the League of NH Craftsmen, is offering a full line up of craft and art classes this summer including dedicated kids and family classes.
Two classes specifically geared to 10-16-year-olds will be offered in July. First up is Needle Felting a Cupcake Trinket Box. In this class, instructor Patsy Frasier will teach students how to needle felt starting with a cupcake “box” which they’ll then decorate with some yummy looking felt on top and finish off with a hinge to connect the top to the cup.
The second class is a two-session class on hand-made paper jewelry taught by Ralph Watson. In the first session on July 27, kids will learn the art of making hand-rolled paper beads that will be glazed off-site. In the second class on Aug. 3, students will make a necklace using their hand-made beads and other colorful beads to complement them.
For families looking for a fun activity, Diane Johnson will be once again teaching her two-session Treasure Island needle-felting class on Aug. 8 and 9. Children 3+ can participate and work with their family to learn how to needle-felt and make a treasure island diorama, landmarks and characters.
In addition to these classes designed specifically for kids, several other classes being offered this summer are open to teens and some to younger children accompanied by adults.
Details on all classes and online registration are available at: centersandwich.nhcrafts.org, by calling 603-284-6831 or by visiting The League of NH Craftsmen Gallery at 32 Main Street. The Gallery will be open through Mid-October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
