MOULTONBOROUGH — Moultonborough Public Library will host Ken Carpenter on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. He will share the importance of managing home and personal finances.

The program will overview the importance of financial literacy and will build essential skills such as budgeting basics, goal setting, and practical spending tracking. A key focus will be developing the ability to adjust financial plans as circumstances change, enabling participants to gain a better understanding and lasting control over their finances.

The curriculum will also cover financial components including saving, banking, and the precise impact of interest, credit, and debt on financial well-being. The session is structured to provide guidance on approaching real-world money-related decisions at any age. The session includes an interactive discussion based on participant questions and perspectives, as well as some thoughts on specific next steps beyond the overview.

Originally educated as an engineer, Carpenter began his career in electronics manufacturing as a Quality Assurance Engineer, where he mastered the discipline of process and quality. He advanced into project management of multi-year, multi-million dollar manufacturing programs, responsible for meeting demanding targets for schedule, cost, and quality, and leading various teams.

Over a 40-year career, he and his teams developed methodologies to better plan, measure, and manage progress across diverse technologies. Applying these same rigorous principles to his personal finances for over a decade, Carpenter is now dedicated to helping others who are either struggling or just starting their journey toward financial independence.
