BRISTOL ― The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will host a public officials and public informational meeting to discuss the preservation of the bridge carrying Route 104 over the Pemigewasset River (Bridge No. 183/087) to maximize its service life, minimize its life cycle cost, and maintain an efficient transportation network.
The proposed project improvements include replacement of the bridge deck pavement and waterproofing membrane, repairing deteriorated areas of the bridge deck, and installing new expansion joints. Minor roadway work is also anticipated and will primarily consist of milling and repaving the pavement approaching the bridge. The work on the bridge will reduce the traffic to one lane alternating two-way traffic for the first phase, anticipated to be approximately eight weeks, and two-way traffic restored for the remainder of the project.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, at 6 p.m. at the Barbara Greenwood Town Office Building, located at 5 School St. The public is encouraged to attend and participate.
Citizens and public officials will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts to ensure that the project decisions meet public transportation needs and community goals and protect and enhance the environment.
This project is not anticipated to have an effect on cultural or historic resources that may be potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
