CONCORD — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will begin pavement marking operations along I-93, northbound and southbound, including all ramps for exits 27 and 28, from Plymouth to Thornton. The project consists of constructing grooved pavement markings (durable polyurea) over all existing lines within the project limits.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Aug. 6, and conclude the following week. The line grooving will take place utilizing mobile type operations, simultaneously in both northbound and southbound lanes during the day with line painting applications taking place the same night, also in a mobile type operation.
The speed limit during work hours will be reduced to 60 MPH, uniformed officers will be present to help keep the work zone safe for the crews and the traveling motorists.
Work at the exit 27 and 28 ramps will also take place in a moving, mobile type operation, where the equipment moves slower than normal traffic speeds. Drivers should have patience and consider alternative routes.
Message boards and traffic control devices will be used to direct and inform local traffic. Road users should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.
