BRIDGEWATER ― Cheers rang out across Newfound Lake as 24 fearless individuals jumped into the icy waters for the annual Newfound Polar Plunge — raising over $16,000 to protect clean water and the Newfound Watershed.
Presented by Hiltz Aggregates and hosted by the Newfound Lake Inn as part of their Winterfest celebration, this high-energy winter tradition brought together plungers, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators for a day filled with laughter, camaraderie, and community spirit. All proceeds from the event benefit the Newfound Lake Region Association.
From first-time dippers to seasoned splash veterans, each participant took the plunge with enthusiasm, proving that when it comes to protecting Newfound Lake, this community is willing to go all in.
“This was an unforgettable day,” said Executive Director Rebecca Hanson. “The courage of our plungers and the generosity of their supporters truly inspire us. Every dollar raised strengthens NLRA’s work to safeguard clean water, healthy forests, and the natural beauty that makes the Newfound Lake Watershed so special.”
The funds raised will directly support NLRA’s year-round programs, including water quality monitoring, watershed conservation, invasive species prevention, and environmental education efforts that ensure Newfound Lake remains one of the clearest lakes in New Hampshire.
The 2026 Newfound Polar Plunge was more than a splash — it was a powerful show of commitment to the future of Newfound Lake.
