HOLDERNESS — The last day of the 2023 trail season at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center is Wednesday, Nov. 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last trail admission at 3:30 p.m.

The live animal exhibit trail and all hiking trails are during those hours. The winter programming at the center begins in January 2024.

The It’s a Wild Life exhibit at the center, also closing Nov. 1, highlights IF/THEN Ambassadors whose careers intersect with the natural world. Ambassadors are women and gender minorities who range from computer scientists who help protect endangered whales to ecologists who study the effect of ice in experimental forests. The banners on the trail visually represent each ambassador and their STEM field, including an interactive question for early learners that connects the work of the ambassador to real life.

The It's A Wild Life Exhibit is part of regular trail admission. Pre-registration is not required.

The It's A Wild Life Exhibit is made possible by a grant from the Association of Science and Technology Centers IF/THEN Gender Equity Project.
