CENTER HARBOR — What could be better than ice cream in the summer? How about free ice cream you earn by reading library books? The Nichols Memorial Library in Center Harbor is proud to participate again this summer in Ben & Jerry's Literacy Program. Children and teens who read books from the Library between June 1 and Labor Day will earn a coupon good for a free small Ben & Jerry's ice cream cone for each book read. Pre-schoolers and beginning readers can also earn ice cream cones by having stories read to them.

The catch? Just correctly answer one question about each book that the librarian will ask. Coupons can be redeemed at the Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop in Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith. For more details, contact the library at 603-253-6950 or centerharborlibrary@gmail.com.

Located at 35 Plymouth St., the Nichols Memorial Library is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday from 1 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Wednesdays. You do not need to be a resident of Center Harbor to apply for a library card. The card is available to everyone at no charge.
