BRIDGEWATER ― Join the Newfound Lake Region Association at the Newfound Lake Inn on Wednesday, March 18 at 5 p.m. for Newfound Science Pub, an engaging way to connect with experts in science and conservation ― over food and drinks.
Across New Hampshire, shifting weather patterns are bringing more frequent droughts, heavier rainstorms, and more variable winter conditions. These changes affect how water moves across the landscape and through the ground, influencing everything from lake levels to water clarity. Abby Thompson Fopiano, hydrologist and owner of Edgewater Strategies, will explore the increasing frequency and intensity of droughts, heavy precipitation events, and freeze and thaw cycles — and examine how these changes influence water quality, groundwater recharge, stormwater runoff, and overall watershed health. Discuss current issues, ask burning questions, and share your own perspective in a casual, social atmosphere.
This event is free; attendees arrive around 5 p.m. to purchase food and drinks, and the conversation begins at 6 p.m. Registration is required. Register by visiting NewfoundLake.org/events or calling 603-744-8689.
