BRIDGEWATER — The Newfound Lake Region Association invites the community to brave the cold for a great cause at the annual Newfound Polar Plunge, taking place Saturday, Feb. 21 at noon as part of the Newfound Lake Inn’s Winterfest celebration.

The Polar Plunge brings the community together for a high-energy winter tradition that raises critical funds to protect Newfound Lake and its watershed. Participants collect donations, then take a quick — and chilly — dip into Newfound Lake in support of clean water and healthy ecosystems.

The 2026 Newfound Polar Plunge is presented by Hiltz Aggregates, whose support helps make this signature NLRA fundraiser possible.

“The Polar Plunge is about more than just the splash,” said Rebecca Hanson, executive director of NLRA. “It’s an opportunity for the community to come together during Winterfest, have some fun, and show their commitment to protecting Newfound Lake for generations to come.”

Held as part of Newfound Lake Inn’s Winterfest, the event adds to a day of seasonal celebration, making it a fun and festive experience for participants and spectators alike.

Plungers of all ages and experience levels are welcome, and community members are encouraged to attend, cheer on participants, and support the cause.

Funds raised through the Polar Plunge directly support NLRA programs focused on water quality monitoring, conservation initiatives, and environmental education throughout the Newfound Watershed.

Registration is open now and sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses. For event details and to register, visit NewfoundLake.org/event/newfound-polar-plunge

NLRA’s mission is to protect and improve the health of the Newfound Lake Watershed, supporting ecosystem resilience and natural resource conservation through focused programs and community engagement.
