MEREDITH — The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen Meredith Fine Craft Gallery invites crafters to discover rug hooking with league juried artist Pam Bartlett. The five-week class is being held at The Woolen Pear in Loudon.
Attend the class during the day, 10 a.m.-noon, or evening, 6-8 p.m., once a week Wednesday, March 30, to Wednesday, April 27.
The class will learn the basics of rug hooking to complete a 12" x 12" project. The project can be finished as a wall hanging, chair pad, or pillow in a choice of available colors. Pam will teach the proper form and techniques to accomplish the art of "pulling wool." Learn about the history of the craft and the different styles of rug hooking, how to design and color plan a project, and how to care for the finished product.
Materials include a hook, pattern, and various colors of wool. Materials needed to bring are a small pair of scissors and a 12-inch quilting type hoop, available at The Woolen Pear. There is no additional materials fee with tuition.
The Woolen Pear is at Brookside Mall, 563 Route 106 in Loudon.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
To register, email meredithfinecraft@gmail.com, call 603-279-7920 or stop into the gallery at 279 Daniel Webster Hwy, or visit meredith.nhcrafts.org/classes.
