BRISTOL — Ruth Droescher will host a garden talk on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m., located at the Minot-Sleeper Library in Bristol. All are welcome, and there is no fee to attend.

Learn what native plants are and why they are important to include in home landscapes. Photos of native plants suitable for various growing conditions will be shown, as well as photos of native garden examples. Attendees will learn where to purchase natives and how to incorporate them successfully in their new and existing gardens. The presenter hopes to inspire attendees to make small changes in their gardens using native plants.

Droescher is an Advanced Master Gardener with the University of New Hampshire Extension. She has also completed the extension’s Natural Resources Stewards program and is also a presenter for their “Speaking for Wildlife” program. She has gardened in New England since childhood and in New Hampshire for over 24 years. Her yard is registered with the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat and also certified as a Monarch Waystation by Monarch Watch. She works at her local garden center in Henniker and as a landscape designer and an herbalist education advisor.

The Pasquaney Garden Club's next meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 17, when we will make decorations for our submittal to the Festival of Trees. The remaining workday in the garden is Tuesday, Oct 27.
