The latest soft plastic collection drive hosted jointly by the Laconia-Gilford Lions Club and the Green Sanctuary Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Society was another success. Twenty-eight 50-gallon bags of plastic bags and wrapping totaling 288 lbs. were collected and delivered to a Maine company which recycles them into composite decking, railing and deck furniture.
The next collection drive will be on Saturday, Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UU Church at 172 Pleasant Street. Please start setting aside your plastics now.
