LACONIA — Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid staff members are members of the New Hampshire Emergency Dispatchers Association. At the association's annual meeting and awards ceremony, held April 3, Lt. Erin Hannafin was awarded the NHEDA Trainer of the Year award, and ALCOMM Technologies, LRMFA radio vendor, was awarded the NHEDA IT/RF Technologist of the year award, as a team.

Hannafin was nominated by her peers, one of whom was recently trained by Hannafin. Her nomination was due to her attention to detail, positive attitude, and trainee success rate. She coordinates all internal and external training, as well as all recruiting and hiring processes.

ALLCOMM Technologies of Revere, Mass., was nominated by Chief Jon Goldman. The Radio Infrastructure Project team was nominated for their tenacity and willingness to get the job done quickly and efficiently. In June 2019, LRMFA contracted with ALLCOMM to design, build, install, and maintain an 11-site radio system to replace the outdated system. ALLCOMM team members hiked with hundreds of pounds of equipment to stage on mountaintop sites. Often, they did not summit the mountains until after dark, then build and stage the site to hike down in snowy, cold, and icy conditions.

Goldman concluded his term as president at the annual meeting. Elected to succeed Goldman was Nicholas Bridle of Hampton, who serves as a fire alarm dispatcher at the Derry Fire Department and also a per-diem dispatcher, special projects coordinator, and rural hitch editor at LRMFA.
