LACONIA — After a long winter — and let’s face it, a long year — of way too much indoor screen time, it’s finally time to start thinking about baseball.
Specifically, it’s time to register for the season and prepare for tryouts.
Laconia Little League tryouts are designed to be fun and engaging ways to evaluate young players so they can be placed in the appropriate division for their current skill level — always with an eye toward setting them up for the most success.
All players 9 years or older (Turn 9 before 9/1/21) who are not already on a Majors team need to try out. If they do not make a Majors team, they will play in the Minors.
All players 8 years or older (Turn 8 before 9/1/2) need to try out for Minors.
All tryouts will be held at Laconia High School Football Field, Union Avenue in Laconia.
Here is the tryout schedule:
Minors tryout: Saturday, March 20 from 3 to 4 p.m.
Majors tryout: Saturday, March 20 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Minors tryout: Saturday, March 27 from 9 to 10 a.m.
Majors tryout: Saturday, March 27 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Tryouts consist of skills evaluations on running, hitting, throwing, and fielding. Mostly it’s just a fun baseball practice.
Bring the following to Tryouts: Water bottle, gym shoes, glove, bat (if you have one), helmet (if you have one), catchers gear (if you have), a mask is mandatory.
Please register your player(s) today at laconiall.org/registration. The in-person registrations this year will be held at the tryouts.
