LACONIA — The Laconia Friendship Club is a welcoming senior organization in the Laconia area.
The Welcome Back Social is Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the Gilford Community Church. There will be refreshments as they share events of the summer. If someone is over 55, they are invited to join — everyone can use another friend.
They have been making friends, socializing, and providing community support for over 77 years. The fall schedule includes a presentation by AARP on current scams and frauds, a trip to Moulton Farm courtesy of John Moulton; a Welcome Back Barbecue by Ellie Murphy; lunch at the Lakeside Restaurant; a talk by Rebecca Rule, NH author and humorist; a Halloween Party; Granite State VNA talk on "Recipe for a Resilient Mind"; as well as celebrations for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
All are welcome — regular meetings are at the Gilford Community Church, Fellowship Hall each Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., with some meetings offsite.
