LACONIA — Students from the Huot Career and Technical Center Plumbing and Heating and Building Construction programs recently competed in the Skills USA State Plumbing and Carpentry competitions. Competitors worked all day to complete hands-on projects from blueprints in their respective fields.

Duncan Gosselin, from Winnisquam Regional High School, finished 2nd earning the silver medal in the Carpentry contest. Zach Bobek, also from Winnisquam Regional High School, earned the bronze medal in Plumbing. Alex Waite of Gilford High School earned the silver and Max Quinn, from Inter-Lakes High School, won the gold medal in the Plumbing contest.

Max has earned the opportunity to represent the state of New Hampshire this June at the SkillsUSA National Conference in Atlanta, GA and compete against the best high school plumbing students in the country. Congratulations to the medalist and their instructors Mike Schofield and Ben Schneeweiss.
