MOULTONBOROUGH — Members of the Hook Fight Co. gym took third place in the submission only NH Championships in Derry, on Saturday, April 13. The competition featured teams from all over New England. Seven team members competed, bringing Hook Fight Co. to a team total of 107 points. The winner, Burgess Academy out of Manchester, had 12 competitors and scored 118 points.
“We’ve been training hard for the past two months specifically for this tournament and our team competed well,” said Rick Mancilla, Owner of Hook Fight Co. “It was really good to see everyone’s hard work and dedication pay off after being open for only a year at this point. What a great feeling to have our team come out and showcase their talents in such a dominant fashion and have fun while doing so.”
“The camaraderie at the gym is great,” said Eddie Michno, one of the competitors and team members of Hook Fight Co. “It was fun to compete against different teams and to have your teammates and family cheering from your corner at the tournament. The owners, Rick and Maggie, have created such a welcoming environment at the gym. I’m looking forward to the next one.”
