GILFORD — The Gilford Public Library will host Chris Daley, an historian, author and public speaker, at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, for a talk covering President Abraham Lincoln’s tragic assassination.
This presentation is the result of Daley’s years of research and travel. His journey has taken him to Ford’s Theater, the Peterson House, Mary Surratt’s Boarding House and her tavern, the Samuel Mudd House, The Pine Thicket, and finally the site of the Garrett House and Barn, where federal troops cornered and killed John Wilkes Booth.
The result is a fascinating multimedia presentation of one of the worst tragedies in the history of the United States. Registration is not required. For more information, visit gilfordlibrary.org.
