NORTHFIELD — Hall Memorial Library in Northfield is one of 12 recipients between New Hampshire and Vermont to receive a 2025-26 Rural Library Grant by the Children’s Literacy Foundation.

Each grant provides $2,500 in new children’s books for the public and local elementary school libraries, as well as literacy programming, storytelling sessions, book giveaways, and more.

To meet increasing needs, CLiF recently expanded the grant to include a summer kickoff event with free books and a professional storyteller at each site; circulating early childhood book kits; board books for children ages 0–5; a selection from a menu of bonus materials worth $1,000; and a small stipend to recognize the extra time librarians commit to managing the grant.
