MEREDITH — The Greater Meredith Program recently held its 2024 Annual Meeting on Jan. 9, celebrating another year of dedication, growth, and community impact. Over 130 attendees gathered to honor the contributions of GMP volunteers, businesses, and leaders while looking ahead to an exciting 2025.
The evening featured the presentation of several awards, recognizing individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to GMP’s mission and the Meredith community:
- 2024 Board Member of the Year: Lindsay Weiner
- 2024 Volunteer of the Year: Marilee Sundius
- 2024 Outstanding Business Support: Donovan Tree Experts
- 2024 Community Spirit Award: Heart & Hand Thrift Shop
Special Recognition Awards were also presented to honor longstanding contributions:
- Vickie Carty – Celebrated as the unsung hero of volunteerism since the inception of GMP 20 years ago.
- Chris Kelly – Recognized for years of service on the GMP board, as he steps down from his role.
- Lynn Leighton – Honored for her outstanding leadership as GMP president for the past four years.
- Kathryn Rolfe – Acknowledged for her contributions as vice president, with her new role as president beginning in 2025.
- Chris Williams (In Memorial) – Was instrumental in the origination and the success of the Greater Meredith Program and a longtime chair of the GMP Design Committee.
GMP introduced its 2025 leadership team, with Michelle Brown of Meredith Bay Corporation stepping into the role of president and Wendell Rizzo as vice president.
GMP Executive Director Heather LaDue moderated a panel discussion featuring some of Meredith’s newest business owners. Panelists shared their unique journeys, challenges, and the momentum building within Meredith. Panelists included: Andrew Eaton, Art of Turning; Chef Kalon Sweet, Sweet Mercy Kitchen; Dana Campbell, Bayview Gallery; Heather Lincoln, Blissful Bakery and Café; Amy Grimm, 55 Main – Élevé; Ashley Gerken & Ashley Meeken; Linda Brown, Skål; and Amy Beliveau, Meredith Inn.
