LACONIA — Free, IRS-certified income tax preparation services will be offered at the Laconia Senior Center downtown starting this month. The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and AARP TaxAide/Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs offer free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.
VITA offers free tax preparation to those of any age with low to moderate income (generally less than $64,000) and persons with disabilities.
AARP TaxAide/Tax Counseling for the Elderly offers free tax preparation to people 50 years of age and older regardless of income level.
VITA/TCE services are not only free, they are also a reliable and trusted source for preparing tax returns. Each filing season, tens of thousands of dedicated VITA and TCE volunteers prepare millions of federal and state returns.
To make an appointment, visit nhtaxhelp.org or call 211 and specify VITA or TCE.
VITA will be open from Jan. 30 to April 13, Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
AARP Tax Aide/TCE will be open from Jan. 31 to April 4, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
