LACONIA — The Streetcar Company invites you to follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City this spring, as the Lakes Region’s longest running community theater company kicks off its 50th anniversary season with “The Wizard of Oz.”

Based on the beloved 1939 film, this musical extravaganza features all the classic songs audiences have come to know by heart, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “If I Only Had a Brain,” and “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead,” along with some numbers penned by the film’s songwriting team that were left on the cutting room floor. Directed by Becky Guyer and starring a talented cast featuring Jenny and Kristi Laurendeau, David Nelson, Lena Luongo, Angelo Gentile Jim Rogato, and Bo Guyer, Streetcar’s version of this fun family adventure will take place at Laconia High School Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m.
