Belmont Fire Department held an open house on July 19. It included a dedication of the town’s new tanker to retired Lt. Thomas Murphy Sr. Following the dedication was a ceremonial push-in. When a new truck is put into service, firefighters and town residents physically push the truck into the apparatus bay symbolizing teamwork, tradition and service. The dedication plaque reads: “Dedicated to Lieutenant Thomas Murphy, Sr. In recognition of over 30 years of honorable service, steadfast dedication, and leadership to the Belmont community. Your commitment, courage, and example will forever be a part of this department’s proud history. With heartfelt gratitude.” (Courtesy photos)
