MOULTONBOROUGH ― The Lakes Region Chapter of the New Hampshire Audubon Society will present a program called "Birding Cuba" by Charlie Nims on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Loon Center.
Experience an adventure in birding during a time of turmoil in a country close to our shores, but a world apart. This presentation features not only colorful and endemic birds, but also insight into daily life in Cuba. Explore the country’s birds, pleasant scenery, and resilient people.
Nims is an experienced birder who moved to the Mount Washington Valley 14 years ago. He was previously actively involved with Massachusetts Audubon and the South Shore Bird Club, and now volunteers with NH Audubon. Nims also enjoys skiing and hiking, including completing the 48 New Hampshire 4,000 footers.
The Loon Center is located on Lee's Mill Road; follow the signs on Blake Road from Route 25 near the Moultonborough Central School, or from Route 109 turn on to Lee Road and turn left on Lee's Mill Road.
