MEREDITH — The Annual Mae Hart Thanksgiving Dinner will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27, at the Meredith Community Center, thanks to Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant.
Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant has partnered with the Meredith Parks and Recreation Department for many years to provide this meal; a dine-in dinner will be offered at the Meredith Community Center this year as well as deliveries for those who are homebound and unable to come to the center.
Anyone wishing to dine in or who would like a meal delivered may call the Meredith Parks and Recreation Department at 603-279-8197 or email sperkins@meredithnh.org. The deadline to sign up is Friday, Nov. 14.
The meal will be served at noon with doors opening at 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and meal delivery will be between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
This meal is a longtime tradition thanks to the generosity of Mae Hart, the Hart family matriarch, who promoted community spirit and believed no one should eat alone on Thanksgiving Day. The Hart family has continued her tradition since 1988. Many volunteers have made this gathering possible over the years.
