PLYMOUTH — A new creative opportunity is coming to the Flying Monkey Theatre in Plymouth, inviting community members to step into the spotlight and share their stories, poetry, and voices.
Participants will arrive prepared to share an original story or poem based on the evening’s theme, with a maximum performance time of five minutes. At the beginning of each event, names will be drawn from a hat, with 15 participants selected to take the stage.
Performers are encouraged to memorize and present their work, although notes are welcome. Whether you are an experienced writer or simply someone with a story to tell, the goal is to create a fun, supportive environment where community voices can be heard.
On Sept. 17, the theme is “Change” — tell a story of change. Ever experienced change, witnessed it, caused it, or been transformed by it? Perhaps there is a story about the changing seasons, changing relationships, changing communities, or changes in society.
On Oct. 29, the theme is “Fear” — fear comes in many forms. Share a fear, how it was faced or conquered, how it was navigated in everyday life, or a time when fear changed someone.
Events begin at 6:30 p.m., with a brief intermission midway through the evening.
Not selected to perform? Stay and support your fellow community members. For questions or additional information, contact the Flying Monkey box office at boxoffice@flyingmonkeynh.org.
