BELMONT -- The recent test-drive event which Irwin Ford held at Belmont High School, raised $1,700 for the school.
With schools throughout the country facing funding shortages, the Irwin Automotive Group sees the importance of making sure that the schools in the Lakes Region Community are getting the funds they need to properly educate our youth, according to Chris Irwin, who is vice president of the automobile dealership.
On Oct. 7 the Irwin Automotive Group, Ford Motor Company and the Drive 4UR School program teamed up for this test drive event.
Irwin said, "For myself and the team at the Irwin Automotive Group giving back to the community gives us a feeling of connectedness and the satisfaction of at least trying to make our community and world a better place. Taking advantage of this generous program offered by Ford Motor Company is just one of the ways we can give back.”
The Ford Drive4URSchool program, encourages members of the community to meet at the local high school to test drive a new Ford vehicle. For each household that took a test drive, Ford donated $20 to Belmont High School benefiting the Student Government, National Honor Society, French Club, and the Junior Class.
The program has so far donated in excess of $20 million to schools nationwide.
