PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Music and Arts Center is a longtime staple in the Seacoast community, providing high-quality music and visual arts education programs. PMAC is fundraising to renovate the historic South Meeting House in Portsmouth as a second facility dedicated to visual arts. Meredith Village Savings Bank recently purchased $5,000 in tax credits from the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority to support the efforts.

“We are so thrilled to be embarking on this project, which will grow our visual arts community programs, enabling us to welcome more participants and expand our already impressive teaching artist roster,” said Russ Grazier, PMAC CEO. “The building will maintain its historic character while giving us the modern resources we need to grow and better serve the community. This project represents an exciting new chapter for PMAC and for the arts in Portsmouth.”

“PMAC has been a cornerstone of creativity and education in the Seacoast for many years,” said MVSB Regional Vice President Jim Carrigan. “We are proud to support their vision for the South Meeting House, which will preserve an important piece of history while providing a vibrant new space for arts education for generations to come.”

PMAC’s mission is to build community through the arts by providing all people with the opportunity to achieve their full creative potential, regardless of their age, ability, or economic status. For more information, visit
