LACONIA — Leadership Lakes Region is accepting applications for the 2025-26 program year. The program kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 9.
Since 1996, Leadership Lakes Region has been dedicated to community improvement by fostering strong civic awareness and developing skilled, impactful volunteers. The program is designed to deepen your understanding of the unique facets of civic life in the Lakes Region, exploring its history, culture, economic landscape, political dynamics, social issues, and educational challenges.
The program kicks off with an orientation and continues with seven monthly, full-day workshops of immersive learning. Participants will utilize the diverse towns of the Lakes Region as a “classroom,” providing unparalleled first-hand information and direct discussions with leading figures in business, government, and various civic organizations.
The ultimate goal of the program is to promote volunteerism as a lifelong activity. By the program's end, students will possess a more comprehensive knowledge of the Lakes Region than most, and you'll have cultivated a powerful network of like-minded individuals, all eager to collaborate and contribute to the betterment of our communities.
