MOULTONBOROUGH — The AARP Tax Aide program will provide free tax preparation assistance at the Moultonborough Public Library on Mondays, 10:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., from Feb. 12, to April 8. The library will be closed on Presidents Day, Monday, Feb. 19, so that week, the program will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
Residents of Moultonborough and its environs are invited to book a 20-minute appointment with AARP tax preparer John Bolton by visiting the calendar at moultonboroughlibrary.org or call 603-476-8895. Bolton will review the documents with the taxpayer and will return them with the prepared tax forms the following week at an arranged time.
This free tax preparation assistance is for taxpayers 50 or older, and does not require AARP membership. Participants should bring photo identification, social security card, 2023 tax information and a copy of last year’s federal and state income tax, all tax-related documents (1099s, W2, tax dividend statements, etc.), and any correspondence from the IRS. If collecting social security, participants must also bring their 1099 SSA. See the full list of documents on the AARP Tax Aide at aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide.
