GILFORD — The Carter Mountain Brass Band will perform at the First United Methodist Church on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 3 p.m., offering a program entitled “Valient Endeavors — Soloist Showcase.”
Four band members will be featured, each performing a solo. The audience will hear a flugelhorn, a bass trombone, a euphonium and a tuba.
In addition to the solos, music director Debbi Gibson has selected a well-rounded program, including arrangements of liturgical, classical, folk and popular music with a toe-tapping march for good measure.
A reception immediately following the concert will give the audience an opportunity to meet the band members as well as indulge in light fare.
The concert is free, but a suggested will be collected at the door.
The band will donate all proceeds to the church as a thank you for use the building for rehearsal space.
The church is located at 18 Wesley Way, off Route 11A, near the Route 3/11 bypass exit for Gilford.
