GILFORD — Join the Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance for the 2024 Lake Winnipesaukee Cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 12. Each year, litter finds its way into bodies of water, harming wildlife and affecting water quality. In 2023, volunteers removed a large amount of trash, including large items such as old tires and a toilet from a beach. This cleanup is not just about picking up trash — it’s about preserving the natural beauty of Lake Winnipesaukee and ensuring it remains a clean and enjoyable place for generations to come.
Volunteers will gather at 9 a.m. with team leads at each location, fill out the waiver and pick up supplies. They will be out until 11:30 a.m. to collect trash and clean up areas around the lake. An after party will be held at Ames Farm Inn, noon-2 p.m. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to participate.
