MEREDITH — The staff and associates of RE/MAX Bayside and RE/MAX Innovative Properties would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all who contributed to this season’s Toys for Tots drive here in the Lakes Region. “We are overwhelmed by the enormous amount of donations we have received to support this very special program and help to make this holiday season special for so many young people in our area,” said managing broker Travis P. Cole.
The Toys for Tots program distributes an average of 18 million toys to 7 million children annually in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. This year the organization is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Since 1947 the Marine Corps and Toys for Tots have been making a difference in the lives of American families. It’s considered one of the top-rated charities, with 97% of donations going to toys, books and other gifts to less fortunate children. Three percent is spent on support to cover fundraising expenses. Not one donated dollar goes to pay for salaries or any other manpower costs.
