To The Daily Sun,
No one should disagree that the killing of American citizens in Minnesota is a tragedy. The First Amendment of the Constitution, and we live in a constitutional republic not a democracy, grants us the right to peaceful protest and to petition the government. Unfortunately, this is not what is happening in Minneapolis, Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities around the country.
Actively interfering in police operations is not the same as protesting. But let's take a moment to dispassionately look at some numbers over the past 40 years since President Ronald Reagan declared amnesty in 1986. George Bush Sr. deported between 1.3-1.5 million in four years. Bill Clinton deported between 8-9 million in eight years. George Bush Jr. deported roughly 10 million after 9/11 happened in eight years. Barack Obama deported close to 2.75 million in eight years. Joe Biden deported over 2.1 million in four years.
In 2025, Donald Trump deported 650,000. At the current rate, approximately 2.6 million will be deported by Trump by the end of his second term. However, there were no protests, disruptions, or violence under all the previous administrations.
In my opinion, all this is happening because these "protestors," led by the mainstream media and people like George Soros, don't approve of Donald Trump for one reason or another. He has been labeled as a Nazi, a dictator, a threat to democracy, racist, greedy and many derogatory descriptions, some of which are truly deserved. But what he has ordered is administering current federal law, which was last enacted under the Clinton administration.
If readers disagree with the current laws, voice it at the ballot box or petition Congress, as are our rights as citizens. Interfering with the police, whether local, state, FBI, DHS, CBP, or ICE, will only bring us more tragedies.
