To The Daily Sun,
On this Christmas — and on the eve of the 250th anniversary of the founding of our republic — one cannot help but reflect upon our shared values and the common bonds that bind us to the traditions and vision we have cherished and enjoyed as Americans. These bonds, in the past, have been tested and stretched to the point of breaking. Indeed, they were broken and yet they held. They were held together by sheer force of will and resolve — tested to the very limit. Each generation has been, and shall be, tested. It is for each generation to meet that test or shrink from it, each in its turn.
So on this Christmas, let us warm our hearts by the fires of resolution, fill our cups, and toast to what is America.
Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year.
