To The Daily Sun,
In spite of having strong feelings about the direction our country is heading, I’ve refrained from writing a letter to the editor because midterms, schmidterms, whatever. What will be will be. If folks don’t wake up, they’ll have the country they voted for.
My measly old letter won’t wake anyone up. But today I saw a big sign on the drive to 93, “Reproductive freedom is on the ballot.” I’m still laughing. Government takes care of many things for us — when our kids can or can’t attend school, making sure we only work if we have the safe and effective jab, sending our hard-earned money to needy countries, or needy virus creators, printing more money so prices soar, bringing illegal criminals into the country, choosing our energy, food and information sources, letting cities burn because folks are unhappy, but reproductive freedom, uh, that’s on you. Read a biology book and figure it out.
What happened to personal responsibility? Can we not take care of ourselves without big brother government getting involved? The patriots weren’t fighting for more government. They fought, and are fighting, for freedom. Please vote thoughtfully.
