To The Daily Sun,
As an engineer and small business owner, I have always believed in doing what is right. When it comes to health care, we need leaders who will work to fix our broken health care system and protect and strengthen Medicare.
Despite the false information pushed by Congressman Chris Pappas, the truth is that during his three terms in Washington, he has failed to offer solutions to reduce the cost of health care. With health care costs expected to rise by nearly 6% in 2025, next year will be no different.
Additionally, when it comes to Medicare, especially Medicare Advantage, we see firsthand how his inaction is hurting seniors. The Concord Monitor reported that those on Medicare Advantage and using either Harvard-Pilgrim, Humana, or Wellcare need to find a new provider.
As an engineer and small business owner, I know that prices go up when there is less competition. That’s why, when I get to Washington, I will work on solutions to strengthen our health care system, including Medicare and Medicare Advantage, and reduce health care costs.
This includes working with health insurance companies to learn why they are leaving New Hampshire and how we can fix this and attract more, not fewer, providers to our state.
Another solution is price transparency. If patients could review the costs of non-emergency visits and procedures before they visit their health care provider, that would lower costs.
While Congressman Chris Pappas grandstands and uses health care as a political tool to win votes, I promise to work on solutions that will lower healthcare costs, lower drug prices, and protect Medicare and Medicare Advantage for our seniors.
