To The Daily Sun,
Pamela Price claims that Dawn Johnson's assertion about teaching diversity and inclusion in our schools is not based in reality and is outrageous and just ridiculous. Dawn is concerned that the main goal is "to convince young, impressionable minds that whiteness is inherently racist." Pamela then plays amateur psychologist with a sarcastic bent by mentioning that "perhaps she resents that white supremacy/nationalism is not accepted by most of us." Ouch!
I have a different thought given what has been happening in our "enlightened" cancel culture society. Perhaps Dawn is concerned that "critical race theory" is being infused into those "inclusive" programs. Criticalrace.org features a listing of more than 200 colleges promoting critical race theory, according to The New York Post. Realclearpublicaffairs.com has a recent article which states, "public schools and other educational institutions throughout the nation are pushing critical race theory on unsuspecting students." Parents have become alarmed as they learn about how these ideas are infiltrating the conversations about diversity and inclusion. Has Pamela heard about The New York Times 1619 Project and its assertion that our country was actually founded back then to protect slavery. Or how about the wonderful website, raceconscious.org, where parents are instructed to talk about "Thankstaking," rather than Thanksgiving. This website helps parents discuss everything from race and gender identity, to bullying and sexual exploration.
Implicit bias has even begun to creep into preschool lessons as three-, four- and five-year-old, white children are being taught about their white privilege and inherited racial guilt. I have read portions of Heather MacDonald's book, "The Diversity Delusion," which explains how race and gender pandering are corrupting colleges and undermining our culture. Bruce Thornton's article in frontpagemag.com, "Race in America is Still incoherent," explains how the Left's endless racialist dialogue does nothing to help ordinary black people. He explains how "woke racialism is all about leveraging factional political power," and "identity politics is predicated on victimhood and grievance."
Candace Owens's book, "Blackout," explains "how black America can make its second escape from the Democrat Plantation." Prior to this book, Star Parker wrote "Uncle Sam's Plantation," about how poor, Black people were enslaved by big government's promise to lift them up. The Marxist ideology embedded in the diversity and inclusion curricula is all about power and control and not about improving our very diverse society. I am with Dawn Johnson regarding this issue. Any program that wants to rid the terms mother, father and family from our language and culture is reprehensible and must be stopped.
