Ralph Simpson: Gov. Ayotte delivers budget that supports public safety

Gov. Kelly Ayotte has once again delivered for all of New Hampshire, especially the brave men and women who keep our state No. 1 for safety. With this budget, New Hampshire will remain the safest state in America.

This budget will improve recruitment and retention of our first responders and law enforcement officials. These brave men and women are the reason New Hampshire is the best state for public safety, and we must support them as they put their lives at risk to protect us. This budget also strengthens critical efforts in the fight against drug trafficking, working to keep our communities safe. Not only does this budget support our law enforcement officials, but it also funds valuable programs helping people struggling with addiction.

Ensuring this budget is for all of New Hampshire and every Granite Stater has been Gov. Ayotte’s priority since Day 1. And she has truly delivered. She has fought to ensure our law enforcement officials are supported and our communities remain safe. I am proud to see that our public safety is a priority to the governor, and I thank her for her leadership.
