To The Daily Sun,
During Travis O’Hara’s time on the Belmont Selectboard, I have reached out to him several times with questions about town matters. Each time he responded quickly and explained the issues clearly. That kind of responsiveness and transparency is exactly what residents should expect from their local officials. As a Belmont resident, I appreciate that level of communication. In a town the size of Belmont, that kind of responsiveness matters.
O'Hara has also shown a strong concern for Belmont’s town budget and the impact it has on taxpayers. His focus on responsible spending and careful oversight reflects an understanding that every dollar spent by the town ultimately comes from Belmont taxpayers.
Travis has also supported efforts to better engage Belmont residents by encouraging meeting times that are more consistent with the schedules of everyday working people in our community. Making local government more accessible allows more residents — especially those working during the day — to take part in the decisions that shape our town.
Belmont works best when our local officials listen, respond, and respect the people who pay the bills. Belmont benefits from experienced and engaged leadership, and Travis O’Hara has demonstrated that commitment during his time on the selectboard. For these reasons, I believe he has earned another term.
